A Little Break...

Hi all, I've been a bit quiet on the blog front recently, and I will be taking a little break from blogland for about the next month to 6 weeks.

We are having lots of building work going on, and I have had to pack away my craft stuff - Waaah! So until I can get my things back out for a crafty play, I won't be posting as often. I have several scheduled posts lined up for The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog (every other Monday) and for Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog (every other Wednesday). There is still plenty of time to play in both of these challenges for the current challenges, so I hope you feel inspired to have a play!

I will still have my i-Pad so will try to get around to my favourite blogs to see what you have all been up to! My next scheduled post is for July 8th for The Ribbon Reel, so please pop back!

TRR #56

Hi all, it's time for another fab challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog! This week, Lenet is the hostess, and look what she has chosen for us:

Such pretty colours! Lenet asks that we use the colours from the photo, and include a flower and ribbon on our creations. Edited to add: Oops - Also include some lace, which I have forgotton!

I had the (new!) perfect paper stack to use for this challenge by Prima called Hello Pastel. I also got the washi tape to match too, but I never know how best to use it. Will save the washi for a rainy day!

I have made a card for one of the mums at school, she is also one of our neighbours' daughter - she has recently been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, at the very young age of 36.  She has 4 children, one is only 6 months old, so this was a bolt from the blue for her and her family.

I really want to cheer her up, as her treatment is very unpleasant, and I thought this fun label from Waltzingmouse Stamps was perfect.  Teamed with these pretty papers, I hope it does cheer her up.

I cut two chevron strips using my new PTI Chevron die, layered the papers, stamped the sentiment onto some of the patterned paper from the stack and added some Sheer Pink Ruffle Ribbon and Teal Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel. The gems and little blue rose are from my stash.

SSCB #14 - Basket Case

Hi all, time for another challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. This fortnight we are looking to see you use baskets in your creations, not Christmas or Easter.


I have made a little set of notelets,in warm colours.
I have used a stamps called Holiday Bundle, which is a winter tree, in a little bag, but I think it suits any occasion.

I have used some neutral patterned papers from Prima Hello Pastel stack, and the image is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Primrose Petals ink.

The mats for the cards are in the co-ordinating colours.

TRR #55 - Treasure Pearls

Hi all, it's time for a new challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog! And look at the inspiration we have for you today, chosen by Zuzana.

So pretty! Zuzana asks that we incorporate the colours from the image, and to use Pearls, Ribbon and lace.

I was immediately inspired by that gorgeous enamelled flower pin in the picture, and I knew I had to use that in my creation!

I have used a new sweet image from Santoro Gorjuss Girls, think she is called Bookworm, isn't she delightful? I coloured her with Promarkers to match the new paper I had from Kaisercraft, such a pretty design.

I used her on a twisted easel card, a shape I have not used before, but I will be using this again - it looks great on my mantel piece, and my kids were like 'WOW'! I used some teal Core'dinations card as the mat - it took a lot of cutting and measuring (which I am no good at!) but I'm so pleased with the end result.

This is the base of the card - layered with Cor'dination and some Kaisercraft paper, I then added some Crochet Lace from The Ribbon Reel, and a bow.

I then made a panel using the other side of the paper for the ditsy floral design, matted onto some more Core'dinations, and wrapped some Mesh Two Tone Mauve and some 9mm Grosgrain Centre Stictch in Turquoise.

I cut a banner using Spellbinders, stamped the sentiment and inked over with some Turquoise chalk ink. I added some Candy Sugar pink pearls to the banner and the corners of the panel. I added a couple of Aqua/White buttons to the layered ribbons, primarily for the card top to have something to keep it open, but I am using the panel to do that so I can see them properly!

Here is the card closed, it can't quite fold flat, but this is a card I would hand deliver, it's quite heavy!

I cut some Spellbinders leaves for the beautiful Hybrid Cerise Pink Tea-rose from The Ribbon Reel, and punched a couple of butterflies from some of the scrap paper, topped with some Candy Sugar pink pearls also from The Ribbon Reel.

And this is the back view, I also added some pink pearls in the corner too.

Father's Day

Hi all, Happy Saturday! I'm here with a quick card for my hubby for Father's Day, which is next week! This year is flying by so quickly, I just don't know where the time is going!

Anyway, I made this card using my new Waltzingmouse Stamps set My Kinda Guy.

Now, my guy is a very unfussy kinda guy, so it needed to be simple - no ribbons, gems, flowers etc, yes I struggled with this one lol!
 

 I simply stamped the border in Tuxedo Black and Love Letter Red (appropriate!), and I created the little frame using the long strip from this set, so easy to line up around the fun sentiment from WMS Compact Family.

I added some black gems for a little sparkle, I hope he doesn't mind haha! I stamped and fussy cut the little moustache from the set, and added with some pop dots.

A fairly CAS and quick card for me, but time is against me today, and indeed every day!

SSCB #13 - Zentangle/Doodle

 Hi all, today there's a new challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. This fortnight, we would like to see your creations featuring a Zentangle aspect.

I have tried, and not done very well lol. So I have done a little doodle on the butterfly die cut, from the Serendipity Stamps Shop, and a doodle around the frame. It looks ok, but I wouldn't call my effort a zentangle! I tried!

I've used some beautiful papers from Kaisercraft, and cut the banner using a Spellbinder die. The Sentiment is from the Serendipity Stamps shop.

I topped the butterfly with a little resin flower and pearl bead.

Do stop by the rest of the D.T for some way better Zentangles than mine Ha-ha!!
