Yippee!!

Morning all, I'm very chuffed today, as I got an honourable mention 'Cream in Our Coffee' over at The Play Date Cafe this week, and I'd just like to say to the lovely DT a big thankyou! I've had a few honourables and a couple of Fab Fours from The Cafe, and I am always over the moon when I get picked for a little something!



I am pleased as it was one of my favourite cards I have made recently, and I know it's gone to a good home!

I will try and get something made for a post tomorrow, but if not I'll be back on Monday 8th August with my DT card for The Ribbon Reel, as I'm going away this Friday for a week and am in the middle of a packing frenzy!

PDCC # 91, WMSC #57, Less is More

Hi all, today I have a card for a few of my favourite challenges. The Play Date Cafe, Waltzingmouse sketch Challenge, Less is More, and Crafty Catz.

This week it's a colour splash over at The Play Date Cafe, Less is More want us to use buttons or ribbon, there's a cool sketch at WMSC, and Crafty Catz have asked for no pink or blue to be used.

Here's the inspiration:



And here's my take:



I have use the two smaller circular 'tree-tops' from WMS Teeny trees, and stamped the larger one in tuxedo Black and the smaller one in Dew Drop Purple Hydrangea. Then fussy cut the smaller purple ones and layered them up onto the larger black ones.



Then added some buttons in black, white and purple colours with some black twine threaded through the middle.


Then underneath scored some lines and laid some Liquorice bakers twine from The Ribbon Reel across, and tied a little bow.

Finally stamped the sentiment from WMS Asian Gardens Additions.

The Ribbon Reel Challenge #7

Hi all, a quickie from me today, I have another card for The Ribbon Reel Challenge.
I inadvertantly used the wrong ribbon pack for my card this week, so I have made another!


The photo inspiration:



My card using the correct ribbon pack!



The beautiful bloom is from The Ribbon Reel shop, as is the pink twine and gorgeous blue velvet ribbon underneath a doily cut using a Marianne Creatables die and some pretty paper from Pink Petticoat.

The pink flowery paper is by Wild Rose Studios.



The sentiment is one I bought last year off an internet company for some Wedding thankyou cards I made, unfortunately I don't have the company name.

The leaves are from Waltzingmouse Stamps Roses in bloom set, coloured with watercolour pencils.

Finally added some gems.

The Ribbon Reel Challenge #7

Morning all, today brings us another bi-weekly challenge from The Ribbon Reel.

Our bi-wwekly challenge has been set by Debbie Marcinkiewicz at Debs Simple Treasures and The Shabby Tearoom. Debbie has chosen a beautiful photo inspiration for us, in keeping with her gorgeous shabby chic style!



I took my inspiration this week from the beautiful blue in the tulle dress - I was going to make a pink flower but I did that the other week lol!

So, using some gorgeous seam binding from The Ribbon Reel, this is what I came up with:




I find shabby chic very difficult to do, and my last card for The Ribbon Reel Challenge was very shabby chic. But I think my shabby chic stores were all used up on that card lol, so today I have gone for something a bit more graphic.

I have used the chevron stamp from Waltzing mouse Stamps Offbeat Backgrounds, and used Tuxedo Black and Tumbled Glass inks. I stamped this onto some white card, then cut out and adhered to a white linen card base.




The sentiment is from Say it With Style, and punched out using a little tag punch.



I cut a strip of seam binding and layered this with some white velvet ric rac (LUSH!), also from The Ribbon Reel. Unfortunately, I used Glossy Accents to adhere the ric rac to the seam binding, and this shows through - note to self - use glue dots in future!!

I tied two bows from the rest of my seam binding and tied some twisted burlap around the middle to attach the label. If you look closely I have used a little blue metal ring through the hole to attach it with.

Finally added a small black resin rose from stash and some little lengths of burlap and some gems to the label.

I am also entering this card into The Play Date Cafe Challenge this week, as it's a colour splash, my favourite! So thats black, white and a splash of one other colour. I'm having a bit of a blue week this week, and this is my second entry for this week's challenge.

Music Saves My Soul Saturday - Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own

Another Saturday and it means it's Music Saves My Soul Saturday over at Marcea's Crafting Corner.

Well, the inevitable has happened and I can't say that I am surprised. I feel for her poor parents.
Her last album, Back to Black remains one of my favourite albums, and here's a song from it - an upbeat tune and a great song to sing along to.

However, it's clear that she was in the grip of many demons on this video shoot, her thin spindly legs make me wince and it's a bittersweet performance.



R.I.P Amy Winehouse.

WMSC 56, PDCC 91

Morning all, today I have a card for The Play Date Cafe, and Waltzingmouse sketch Challenge.

I'm again leaving it a tad late for WMSC, and I have literally rustled this up this morning for one of my children's teachers! It's the last day of school here, and they don't return until the 7th September! I just hope it doesn't rain as much as it has this week - we are sodden!

Below are the sketch and colour inspiration from the Cafe - this week it's a colour splash, my fave! And today I have gone for blue, don't know why, but I fancied a hint of blue!





And here's my take:




I have used a white pearlescent card base, and a pearlescent bazzill panel which has been embossed with Swiss Dots. The deges were slightly distressed with Dew Drop chalk ink in Aspen Mist.




Then using some doily stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps Dainty Doilies - Large, stamped a panel on white card using Tuxedo Black and Distress Ink Tumbled Glass.

Cut to size and mounted this onto the swiss dot embossed panel.

The label is from WMS Holiday Labels 14 and hand trimmed to fit inside the blue labels 14 mat I had cut using my nesties.

The sentiments are from Frame - it!, and inside the card I have added the 'fabby' sentiment from Frame-it! too, I love these font styles!


That's all from me, I'm off out to do a last bit of me-time shopping and a coffee in town!

WMS Blog Waltz!

Morning all! Tody is blog waltz day over at Waltzingmouse House Forum, where 'friends' of WMS have a monthly blog waltz using our favourite WMS stamps. Well, they're all my favourites lol!! I have also use the sketch from this fortnight's challenge over at The Ribbon Reel, and the colours from this week's Play Date Cafe, which I absolutely LOVE!

So, below are the inspiration pics:






And here's my take:




I have flipped the sketch slightly so my gorgeous plum baker's twine (from The Ribbon Reel) is above the sentiment strip rather than below - I hope that's ok Keilly! The sentiment strip is WMS Bitty banners and Teeny Trees.




I have use the same Coredinations card stocks as my previous post,
used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and arranged them in a long trail and stuck down with Glossy Accents wing-tip to wing-tip so they appear to fly over the card.




Lots of gems and various nesties were used, I haven't got time to list everything right now, but if you have any queries please feel free to email me and I will get back to you!



Topped off with some glamour dust and lots of gems, I love the ole' bling and sparkle and this is my kind of card - I love it!

PDCC 90, WMSC

Hi all, today i have a card to share for a coule of my favourite challenges, Waltzingmouse sketch Challenge and The Play Date Cafe. This week the Cafe want us to use some gorgeous colours, and I just had to get creating!

Now, I hope the image fits this sketch, and that the Mischief Makers don't think I have taken a liberty, but the pumpkin stamp from Waltzingmouse Stamps Peace and Plenty set just popped out at me to use for this sketch.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers, and I have added a frame around it from Fram-it! stamp set, then cut out using a Go-Kreate die.



As you can see I have made a teacher card for my son's teacher - he's really going to miss her, and she has done such a fabulous job with all the children.




I have used Coredinations cardstock in Fuschia, a deep aubergine and burnt orange colours - sorry these are scraps and the labels were cut off!

I embossed the orange panel with a folder by Indentz, and sanded back to reveal the paler core.
Then stitched this to a distressed piece of aubergine card. Then I layered this panel onto the fuschia card which had been stitched around the edge and distressed.



Inside I have stamped the sentiment from Frame it and Teeny Trees, love this font style!



Before adhering all together I went rount the image panel with Milled Lavender and Dusty Concorde distress inks, and the kraft card base with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain.

Finally added some teeny butterflies and gems in the colours of the coredinations, and i just love it! I may make another like this for my daughter's teacher, just one more to do!

I have just noticed that the border is wider on the left than on the right - and I noticed this on my last card and i think it may have something to do with the fact I am left handed lol! I need to aim more to the left when mounting my panels!!

CR84FN, WMSC

Hi all, today I have a card for a couple of my favourite challenges - Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and CR84FN.

Below are the inspiration pics:




And here's my take:




I have used a cream card base, and embossed a piece of pale pink Core'dinations card with Swiss Dots EF.

Then using the same cream card, stamped the swag banner from the newly released Eat Cake repeatedly to make a pattern.



Then using the same pink card, cut a small mat using Nestabilites Labels No. 10.

On some cream card, I then stamped a scroll frame from Ovals Classic Frames, and cut using a nestabilities scalloped oval.

In the centre of the oval I stamped the star motif twice, and adhered a red paper rose to the centre.


I stamped the two little cameos in Rosebud pink, and cut using nesties, and layered them onto two hearts stamped using WMS Sweethearts.

I edged the cream patterned panel with a Martha Stewart edger punch - as soon as I saw the swag stamp I knew I had to use the punch with it! Added some cream pearls and a couple of pink gems to the lady's hair. Finally stamped the sentiment from Say it with Style.

Sorry this is such a short post, I've got the school run in 5 minutes!!

The Ribbon Reel # 6

Hi all, today brings us another challenge from The Ribbon Reel! This fortnight we have a sketch for you to try, and it's a fabulous one! I am also entering this card into Crafty Catz Challenge, which this week want a vintage theme.

I recieved my new Waltzingmouse stamps this week, and couldn't wait to get them inky!

The card is a multiple fold card that I got from my local craft shop - I call it a tri-fold card, but I'm sure it has a proper official name somewhere!

In line with the images I have used, I thought I'd try my hand at Shabby Chic - not something I'm entirely comfortable with, but I think it turned out ok!

Here is the side view:



I have used the newly released You're Lovely set from Waltzingmouse Stamps, and stamped the dressform onto some Martha Stewart patterned paper, then paper pieced a bodice in Rich Cocoa ink.


The Dressform is mounted onto two panels cut using a Go-Kreate die, both stamped with the flourishes from WMS Flourishes - Scallops and Dots, embossed in White Pearls embossing powder.



The large rose at the top is from The Ribbon Reel, as is the satin ribbon and lace trim through the middle of the card. The two smaller roses in the bottom right hand corner are from stash.


A close up of the shimmer from the pearlescent card base and embossed scrolls, they are so pretty in real life!



Before assembling this card, I distressed all the edges and corners of all the panels and card with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain.


The green leaves are vellum, and punched with a McGill punch.


This is the inside of the card unfolded - I decided to decorate the inside too, as it was visible from the outside.

On one of the panels, I simply stamped the dress in Memento Rich Cocoa onto some cream card, and on the other panel, stamped some more flourishes in Versamark and embossed with White pearls powder.


The ribbon and twine under the larger rose is from my stash.


After assembling all together, I finally added some cream pearls and some gems to the little Vintage tag, cut with nestabilities Fancy Tags.
