Purple Haze for The Ribbon Reel Challenge #16

Hi lovely bloggers, today brings us a new challenge from The Ribbon Reel, and this week it's everybody's favourite - Anything Goes! Woo-Hoo!!

Well, I nearly made another christmas card, but I am slightly christmassed out at the minute lol, so I thought I would make a nice girly card.

My Ribbon pack for this weeks challenge contained purple ribbons and twine, my favourites!
So, I made something that could be for a birthday, or party invite or maybe for someone's first Prom!

I have used the sketch from this week's Sketch saturday.





The dressform is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, coloured with Promarkers.


The little tags are by Papertrey Ink, and I just can't get enough of them right now!



Ive used lots of layers, using MFT doily dies, and papers from Papermania.




The little paper roses are from my stash, and the purple twine and purple and natural jute bows are from The Ribbon Reel.

Less is More

Evening all, I have a card to share tonight for the new Less is More Challenge, which this week would like us to Bling it On! Well, how could I resist?

I have had a new snowflake die cut for a few weeks now and it's been calling my name, so finally I got round to using it today!

I had in mind something completely different for this card, but the best laid plans etc etc, it's kind of followed it's own flow.

I haven't tried the dry embossing technique with a die before, and I really wanted to try this with this pretty die. After a few attempts, I finally ended up with this;



I never normally make one layer cards - I am a naturally fussy and fancy kind of girl, but somehow when I think of CAS, I think one layer. But when Chrissie and Mandi asked us to bring the Bling, well, I was in seventh heaven! So, lotsa bling, but keep it simple - it just said 'One layer, dry embossing!' to me.

I have used loads of bling, but I'm hoping that the fact it's a one layer card, and predominantly full of the beloved white space, and may I add, minimal stamping, it will pass muster.

Charisma Cardz Challenge

Hi all, today is my first post as a DT member for Charisma Cardz, which this week has a theme of 'Snowflakes'. Each week the lovely ladies at Charisma Cardz bring us some fabulous inspiration to get our creativity flowing, and I know there are some gorgeous makes from the rest of the Design Team to get you inspired!

I have used the sketch from this week's Sketch Saturday, here's my take:




I have used my new Lili of the Valley stamp that I got the other week at the NEC, a really sweet winter angel.



The lace is by The Ribbonbox, also an Nec buy, and I have used two strands and dotted with some flat back pearls.




I have used Promarkers to colour, and added some Glamour Dust to her wings and snow flakes for some shimmer.




The backing papers are by Docrafts, and were a freebie from a magazine, and I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I stitched the small squares onto the blue base paper, and added some gems along the bottom of the petal points. Finally I added 3 clear sparklets to the corner, they are my new favourite embellishment, they're so sparkly and glittery in real life.

Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz

Afternoon all, or morning if you're Stateside! I'm a bit late with this month's entry to the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz, and I've got to get some stuff done before I get the kids from school. so I'm going to cut the blurb, any questions about any products I've used just email me, and I'll get back to you!





I've made an easel card, and chose the White on White theme for the Passion for Promarkers Challenge.



The little house is by Waltzingmouse, and is mounted onto some fancy Spellbinders labels, then onto the card base which has been stamped with a WMS Doily.




The lace is from The Ribbon Reel, and was one strand cut into two.



Lots of glimmer and glamour dust...pearls and swirls!

The Ribbon Reel Challenge #15

Hi all, today brings us another challenge from The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog. This fortnight, the picture inspiration has been chosen by Zuzana Obert, a wonderful vintage botanical print of butterflies, my favourite!



I decided to make a piece of home decor, rather than a card - I just felt like something a little bit different!




I have used a white washed wicker heart from Wilkinson's store, I've had this for ages and was inspired to use it for today's challenge.



I've gone a bit mad with the decoration on this heart, but I really wanted something sparkly, and very girly!

I have cut some Spellbinders butterflies in some Core'dinations card, and sanded back the embossed patterns.



I tied some bows using seam binding, and added various gemstones for that all important sparkle...


The central focal point is a Marianne doily topped with some white tea roses and ribbon loops, topped with stickles for some more shimmer :-)

A Card for a few Challenges

Hi all, today i have a card for a few challenges.

I've made a Christmas card in non-traditional colours, and I have chosen this week's new colour story from The Play Date Cafe, which is a colour splash of Black, White and Orange.

Now, I won't lie to you, but... I HATE the colour orange! If you're a regular visitor to my blog, there won't be many cards made with this as my colour choice - I made a few at the beginning of autumn, I do love the colours this season brings, but orange is the one colour I don't have in my house, my wardrobe, or my life!

So, I did groan when I saw the colour palette, but after a bit of blog hopping and Pinteresting, I felt inspired!

So, here are my inspirations:

And my take:


I have had this sweet little Hero Arts reindeer stamped for a couple of weeks, just waiting for me to colour him in. Whaen I stamped him I envisaged him with a warm brown furry coat, and cosy red jumper. But today I fancied him in orange lol!



I coloured him with my Staedtler Ergo Soft Colour Pencils in Black and orange, and cut him out and mounted onto a tag stamped with some text from Waltzingmouse Stamps.



I added some orange dewdrops, some orange sheer ruffle ribbon and an orange twine bow from The Ribbon Reel.



Topped off with a black button and the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Christmas. Given that I really don't like the colour orange, I LOVE this taggy card in this non -traditional colour scheme!

WMSC 72

Hi all, I have finally finished my entry for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, and this is going to be a very quick post as I'm also entering this into the Do You Stack Up Challenge, which closes at 2pm.

Here's the sketch:


And here's my take:



This tag shaped accordian card base I bought at the NEC on Sunday from the Little Claire's stall. I got quite a few, but in different colours, sadly they had run out of white, so I will have to get some online Hah!



I have used the resist embossed technique using Fancy Flourishes Scallops and Dots from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Stamped a flourish background in Versamark and clear embossed onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut to fit two panels, and sponged with distress inks in Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans.



Then I embossed two snowflakes onto navy card, using Platinum Glitter powder by WOW!. Cut out with my circular nesties and layered onto some card sponged with the distress inks.



It's lovely and glittery, and the embossed swirls have a real glow to them. Then mounted these onto a white doily cut with an MFT die.


The middle panel has been embossed with the WOW! powder, using the flourishes, and the sentiment has been stamped twice in Brilliance Metallic Silver and Metallic Blue onto both blue and white card, then just hand cut the sentiments and popped up on foam dots. Finally added some ribbon from the Ribbon Reel, and pearly brads.

PDCC, and Some New Stash!!

Morning all, today I have a card to share for The Play Date Cafe, which has a beautiful colour story of Grey, Lemon, Pink.





For my card I have used a kraft card base, and Pink Paislee Nantucket paper stack, and Nantucket clear Stamps. I stamped the Dogwood floral image onto some ivory card twice, in Memento London Fog, and cut using the out of the box technique with my nesties, then hand cut the second image to decoupage on top.


I then layered this onto a frame cut using a pretty Marianne Creatables frame in some of the pink chevron patterned paper. I layered this onto a panel cut using some yellow gingham paper, stamped with a running stitch stamp by hero Arts.

I then cut some tags using Papertrey Ink's Tiny Tags and co-ordinating dies, and attache a couple to the card using some pink and yellow twine, wrapped around the card with some pink velvet ribbon all from The Ribbon Reel.



I then added a little grey flourish using Papertrey Ink's Mat Stack 1 collection, and added some grey pearls.



Finally added a yellow Prima resin flower.

I actually had this finished yesterday, but didn't have time to post as I went to the big Hobbycrafts show at the NEC in Birmingham. I came away with these goodies, but, some people had suitcases of stuff!! It was very busy, and completely manic, but we all had a great time, and a few of us had a little snooze on the coach home lol!



I now have to put my lovely new loot away, and I can't wait to use my new stamps and dies!

WMSC 71, CR84FN 41

Hi all, another card to share today, twice in one day it's a record lol! This time it's for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, and CR84FN Challenge. I'm a bit late with these challenges again this week, I am finding the weeks are just flying by.

Here's the sketch:


And the colour inspiration from CR84FN:



And here's my take:



I have coloured the sweet little WMS house again, but used Promarkers this time, rather than the pencils I used last week for this image. They are faster to use than pencils, but I prefer the depth of shading I can achieve using pencils - I guess I need to practise with my Promarkers more :-)

I decoupaged the house UP, just stamped the house twice, coloured the images and cut the door out of the top house, stuck the door to the bottom house, and layered them together with foam dots. I added some Glamour dust to the roof and gables of the house, it's so twinkly!



I layered the house onto a piece of pale yellow pearly card, stamped with some doilies in Memento London Fog.

The little sentiment is also WMS, and layered onto some more pearly yellow card stamped with doilies.



The ribbon at the top is Silky Crush from The Ribbon Reel, to which I have tied a bow in yellow Baker's Twine and a yellow resin rose from Prima.



The background grey houndstooth paper is by Papermania, and the cardbase is a petal point card base from Craftwork Cards. The little blue gems along the bottom are from Kaiser, and very twinkly with all the facets on their surface.
