The Ribbon Reel #26 - Going Green

Happy Monday all, today brings us a new fortnightly challenge from The Ribbon Reel.
This week, it's my turn to choose the inspiration, and I've gone for a Going Green theme, of recycling, and using any or all of the colours in the inspiration pic below, including ribbon or twine.




For my recycled element, I used a page from a Dior catalogue that I was sent before Christmas. It has some gorgeous photography and rich colours in it, so I kept it!

This is the page I used, and also a small cake box from Halloween that has a lovely deep kraft tone and texture.



Out of the page I die cut some rolled roses using a Marianne Creatables die, and cut some leaves out of the kraft box using the matching leaf die.




And here is my card created using recycled items:



I have black embossed the fancy background using Waltzingmouse Stamps Florentine Frippery, onto some matt gold card.

I then stamped the matching label in memento, and sentiment from Rescue Remedies Additions, also from WMS.



I rolled the roses, and added some pearly brads to the centres.
Before adding to the card I wrapped some Gold Silky Crush and Seam Binding in Charcoal Grey, both from The Ribbon Reel shop.



I sat the rolled roses on top of some die cut kraft leaves, and finally added some charcoal grey pearls to the petal point edge.

DYSU #67 - Bling/Glitter

Morning all, today brings us a new challenge from DYSU, and this week we would like to see your projects with some...



..Glitter or Bling! Yep, crack open those neglected bottle of glitter, Stickles, and packs of gems and go for the glow!

I have made a card using both glitter and gems, I love the bling, so this card was as easy as peas for me to do!



I've used the delightful Summer Angel image from Lili of the Valley, and coloured her in using Promarkers.


I've added some Glamour dust to her wings for that all important sparkle!



I cut her out using a Nestie oval, and then layered onto a pink doily mat cut using a beautiful die from Cheery Lynn, Polynesian Sails. Such a gorgeous die cut.




The backing paper is from Kaisercraft, and the pink lace and pink velvet ribbon underneath the die cut are from The Ribbon reel, as is the Ivory button twine bow.

I added some Tiny Tags from PTI for a little sentiment, and finished off with lots of gems around the die cut.

Charisma Cardz - Fancy Folds

Hi all, hope you're all enjoying your Easter break if you're off with the kiddies, I know my 3 are quite keen to get back now, and I must admit I need some routine back in my life lol!

Anyway this week, Charisma Cardz would like to see your creations with Fancy Folds!


I have made an easel card, using a pre made card base from Craftwork Cards, it has a scallopped aperture, and looks so decorative when popped up.




I have used papers from Authentique, and matted with some aqua Core'dinations card to bring out the little aqua accents in the papers.




I have used a sentiment from Papertrey Inks, and cut using a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three.

I added some little butterflies punched with a Martha Stewart punch.




The middle doily is a beautiful cheery Lynn die, Italian Flourish, and is topped with a piece of the floral paper cut using Spellbinders Tear Drop Circles.



Finally I added some black and gold gems, and some more butterflies.

CR84FN 51 #2

Morning all, this week is Week 2 for the CR84FN Challenge, of Pale Blue, Pink and Peach.
I would like to say thank you my new followers this week, and for visiting me and leaving such lovely comments!



I have made a fairly quick and easy card today, using some pretty Pink Paislee paper, that has just the right colours in it!




I simply cut a panel to size, and matted it up onto some peach and pale blue Core'dinations, wrapped some twine around the middle, and my last piece of the dotty lace.



The sentiment label is a Papertrey Ink Die cut and Stamps, Mat Stack 1, added some Prima Say it in Crystals for some shimmer, and finished off with a pink rose and pink silky crush bow from The Ribbon reel.

DYSU #66 - Friendly Critters

Morning all, today brings us another challenge from DYSU, and this week we would like to see your creations including some..







..Friendly Critters!

So I have a couple of cards today, my first one is a very pink girly card, using the very sweet Bunny Ballerina from Dearie Dolls.



She is coloured with Promarkers, and mounted onto some pretty pink patterned papers from the Trimcraft Birdsong stack.




The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, stamped into a little PTI Beautiful Bloom, and layered onto a PTI pink mini doily.



I sat Bunny on a pink lacy doily by Cheery Lynn, I love these dies, so pretty and intricate.
I added some glitter to her dress edge, and undeneath the doily for some sparkle.



I added a seam binding bow in baby pink, topped with a little fabric flower and a pearly brad, and a little corsage of paper flowers that I have had in my stash for ages, tied up with a little bit of black baker's twine.


My next card is still girly, but not so pink!

I have used the sweet Hoot Hoot Hooray image and sentiment from Bugaboo Stamps.




I have coloured this fun image with Promarkers, and mounted onto some pretty papers from Trimcraft's Desert Blooms paper stack.



I have used an easel shaped card base from Craftwork cards.



The sentiment was cut using a circle Nestie, and layered onto a fancy tag shape.


Finally I added some gold ribbon, stitching, and some punched flowers topped with gems.

The Ribbon Reel #25 - Easter Blues

Morning all, today we have a new challenge from The Ribbon Reel, this week set by Fran. We would like to see your Easter projects using the colours in the photo below, and using ribbon or twine.



For my card I have used a Waltzingmouse Stamps image, and papers from Pink Paislee.


The beautiful blue loop trim and velvet ribbon are both from The Ribbon Reel Shop.




I have coloured the basket full of eggs using promarkers, and mounted onto some aqua Core'dinations embossed with a butterfly design.




I added a sentiment using the Beautiful Blooms dies from PTI, and topped the loop trim bows with prima Say it in Crystals.

CR84FN # 51

Good morning everyone! Today I have some news, which I have just about been bursting to share, but couldn't until today!

I am one of the new Design Team members for CR84FN!
I was overcome with excitement when Mona contacted me, and asked if I would like to join the team. Of course, I had a really long think (about a nano second!) and said Yes! After I had picked myself up off the floor lol! In fact my daughter had thought I had won the lottery given how giddy with excitement I was!

So today is my first DT card for CR84FN, and the colours couldn't be any prettier.



Pink, Peach and Light Blue. Just peachy!

And here's my peachy take:



I have stamped the background using stamps from last month's Waltzingmouse release, Nordic Spring. The pattern possibilites are almost endless. This is a very cut down version of my original stamping, I got a bit carried away! I stamped the pattern strips in Adirondack Peach Bellini and Hero Arts Soft Rose.



I stamped the gorgeous heart in the Peach Bellini and embossed it with clear embossing powder for some shine. I then backed it with a scalloped heart using Pale blue Swiss Dot Bazzill.



I then cut another couple of smaller hearts, inked the centres with the Peach ink and added the sentiment.

I finished off with a Pale Pink seam binding bow and Pink bakers twine and some ivory button twine and pink rose, all from The Ribbon Reel. I couldn't resist adding some pearls along the punched petal point edge and the hearts.
