CR84FN 19, WMSC 38, Papertake Weekly, Let's Ink it Up.

Hi all, it feels like I haven't made anything for ages, so I pulled my mojo out of the bag and made a card today for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, CR84FN colour challenge., Papertake Weekly, and Let's Ink it Up.

And here's my take:

I decided to place the circular sketch onto a square cared, mainly because I didn't have a circular die big enough to cut round my Nellie Snellen die cut! Using the NS die, I cut a decorative circle in matt silver card from Papermania and threaded some thin chiffon ribbon through the inner holes, then tied a bow where the ends met, adding some steel blue chiffon to give the bow a bit of oommph!

I then silver embossed some pearlescent white card using Waltzingmouse Stamps Text-It set, and cut into a semi circle.



Then using Core'dinations deep blue card, dry embossed a damask design from Crafts Too and lightly sanded to expose the grey middle.


Cut a Lacy Square using my nestabilities in an aqua shade card, added some aqua beads to some chiffon, and layered them all together.


finally layered the panel onto some of the blue Core'dinations card and a white linen card base, added some gems, and i'm very pleased with the end result.


There is no main sentiment on the front of the card, but I can add one to the inside when I want to use it.

Music Saves My Soul

Hi all, today I have a post for Music Saves my Soul, at Marcea's Corner.

Here's a song that I keep playing over and over - she has a lovely voice, and we got the album last week. My kids love this album, it's constantly on play, and if it's not, they're constantly singing her songs!

Less is More, WMSC #37,

Hi all, I have another card today for Less is More challenge, which this week wants pastels, and the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

Edited to add: Everyone has commented on the Opal Dust I used - it's available at The Mulberry Bush online, or if you're local to Thatcham/Newbury, Flutterby Crafts at Henwick Farm. I believe they are the official Uk distributor of Jo Sonjas products.

Here's my take:



I bought a new rubber stamp last week that had three images on one panel - so I treated myself!

This butterfly is one of the images, coloured with Promarkers in pastel colours.



I layere up the image onto some pink and lilac bazzill, and the shimmer and shine you can see is from something called Opal Dust by Jo Sonjas. It's a bit like glamour dust, but in a gluey suspension that dries clear and leaves a glittery glow everywhere, and I mean everywhere lol!

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Gardens, and the butterfly stamp is by Stamps Happen inc.

WMSC, Meredith's Birthday Bash Day 4!!

Hi lovely people, hope your weekend is going well? I have a card today for Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, and Day 4 of Meredith's Birthday celebrations over on A Delightful Waste of Time, check out the details here, but hurry, there's less than 24 hrs left to participate and perhaps win a prize!!.I am also entering this card into Flutterby Wednesday.

And here is my take:




It's not pink (my first thought was for a ruffly pink card), but I bought these papers last week from my local craft shop and was itching to use them - they are lovely and thick and perfect for crafting. So my inspiration is from the ribbon effect on the icing, and I reflected this in the ribbon around the die cut lacy square, cut using my nesties.



The butterfly is a Waltzingmouse stamp from the Earthangel set, this was the very first set I bought from WMS, and it does remain one of my favourites.

The butterfly was stamped onto a pretty patterned paper which is also glitter embossed, it's so pretty and sparkly.

All the edges were distressed with antique linen and Walnut Stain, which always surprises me at how dark it is!

Meredith's Birthday Bash, Less is more!

Hi lovely people, I have a card today for the fabby new challenge blog Less is More - I'm really getting into the ethos of the Clean and simple style, but I am a naturally fussy and fancy kind of girl, I resist the urge to throw gems, buttons and ribbons at my CAS creations lol, but it's getting easier. I can definitely see where to stop now before I cross that thin sparkly line between Less and More!

I also made this for the week long birthday bash over on Meredith's blog - this was her first challenge, and I've been meaning to get round to it all week, but you know how life is - in the way!

This week LIM want pastels and Meredith's first challenge was for a birthday card.



This is a very serene card, the stamps are crisp and are so decorative in themselves need very little embellishment.

I have used Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Gardens set, stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa, and Dewdrop chalk inks in Malted Mauve, Pink Petunia and Aspen Mist.

I have added Ice Stickles to the flower centres for some shimmer, but that's all it needed. I toyed with leaving the branch bird free, it would have worked well without it, but I thought I would add it in for good measure!
