SSCB #16 - Use Fabric

Hi all, it's time for a new challenge over at Serendipity Stamps challenge Blog! For the next fortnight, we would like to see some Fabric used somewhere on your creations! Simple!

I have used some love felt on my card today, which is all about Love...

I cut the heart shape in cream felt using the Serendipity Stamps Heart Outline die, and the Love cut in pale pink felt using S.S 'Love' die. Both dies cut this felt like butter, and I had no problem at all extricating the negative felt from the "Love' die cut.

I layered the felt die cuts onto some pink and cream card embossed with a Stampin' Up! Fan embossing folder.

I added the lovely sentiment inside which is available from the Serendipity Stamps shop HERE.

The pretty ditsy paper is from a freebie pack in a magazine, and the pink seam binding is from The Ribbon Reel. Finally I added some pretty Cherry Blossoms, and a sparkly resin Martha Stewart flower to the bow.

Mo's Challenge

Hi all, it's been a while since I have blogged or created due to the building work going on in our house!! I shan't bore you with it, but all my crafy stuff is packed away for the for-seeable future, and has been for a month now. I am missing my crafting and blogging. I almost forgot how to make a post lol!

I've also been grappling with technology - still an uphill struggle for me, but I just want to be able to watermark my stuff without any fuss. I want it to be easy peasy. And it's not.  So, I have watermarked my creation today, but I haven't been able to re-size or edit my pictures apart from the watermark which I applied using Picasa.

Fed up with it as it took me ages to figure out, and I can only do it on hubby's computer so he's fed up with me as he wants to watch something on his playback or something grrrrr.

Anyway, I got some lovely new images from Mo Manning this morning, and I just had to colour one of them in. She is called Peaches and is just gorgeous. I hunted about for my craft stuff which is all in several nooks and crannies and made this:

 See that watermark?? I worked hard on that lol! I have coloured her in for the challenge over at Mo's Challenge Blog, which is to use Turquoise. One of my favourite colours.

I teamed her with some Wild Rose Studios papers, and some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  I have also layere some turquoise lace under the doily, which was a gift from my friend Sue.

And this is where I made my card today! Yes, that is a glass of wine!!

SSCB #15 - Postage Stamp

Hi all, we have a new challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog today, using the inspiration of Postage Stamps.

Look at these beautiful stamps for inspiration! Aren't they gorgeous! I was inspired by the beautiful Zinnia heads, in their pinky peachy tones. You can use any stamp you like to be inspired for this challenge.

So for my card I have used Hydrangea Large from the Serendipity Stamps shop, and coloured with Promarkers.

I cut the image with a Stampin' Up! die, and embossed duck egg blue Core'dinations card with a S.U folder.

I added some dusky pink gems for a little glitter, and some pink velvet ric-rac ribbon and pretty lace for a little vintage feel.

This card was quick and easy to make, the detailed image does all the hard work here! I love this card, so pleased how it turned out, I'm going to find it hard to part with this!

TRR #57 - Picnics

Hi all, today I'm back with a card for our new challenge over at The Ribbon reel Challenge Blog. This fortnight, Helen has chosen the inspiration of Picnics - and this gorgeous picture. So use the colours in the photo, and lace, ribbon, twine and flowers in your creations for this challenge.

I have used some lovely papers from My Mind's Eye as the background for my card, they are so summery and perfect for this chgallenge! I layered this panel onto some Sno cone card from MFT, and my card base is in Natural card stock also from MFT.

I cut a pink doily using an MFT die, and cut some roses in Sno Cone felt and Royal Rose dies from MFT. I stamped the basket image from Waltzingmouse Stamps onto some wood effect paper from MME.

Under the doily, I layered some blue wired Slik Crush ribbon, and on top of this, I layered some Pink Gingham Check, and Ivory Crochet lace, all from The Ribbon Reel Shop.

I added a gingham bow, topped with a Button Twine bow, also from The Ribbon Reel Shop. Finally I added some beads to the flower centres and the bow for a little shimmer.

A Little Break...

Hi all, I've been a bit quiet on the blog front recently, and I will be taking a little break from blogland for about the next month to 6 weeks.

We are having lots of building work going on, and I have had to pack away my craft stuff - Waaah! So until I can get my things back out for a crafty play, I won't be posting as often. I have several scheduled posts lined up for The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog (every other Monday) and for Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog (every other Wednesday). There is still plenty of time to play in both of these challenges for the current challenges, so I hope you feel inspired to have a play!

I will still have my i-Pad so will try to get around to my favourite blogs to see what you have all been up to! My next scheduled post is for July 8th for The Ribbon Reel, so please pop back!

TRR #56

Hi all, it's time for another fab challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog! This week, Lenet is the hostess, and look what she has chosen for us:

Such pretty colours! Lenet asks that we use the colours from the photo, and include a flower and ribbon on our creations. Edited to add: Oops - Also include some lace, which I have forgotton!

I had the (new!) perfect paper stack to use for this challenge by Prima called Hello Pastel. I also got the washi tape to match too, but I never know how best to use it. Will save the washi for a rainy day!

I have made a card for one of the mums at school, she is also one of our neighbours' daughter - she has recently been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, at the very young age of 36.  She has 4 children, one is only 6 months old, so this was a bolt from the blue for her and her family.

I really want to cheer her up, as her treatment is very unpleasant, and I thought this fun label from Waltzingmouse Stamps was perfect.  Teamed with these pretty papers, I hope it does cheer her up.

I cut two chevron strips using my new PTI Chevron die, layered the papers, stamped the sentiment onto some of the patterned paper from the stack and added some Sheer Pink Ruffle Ribbon and Teal Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel. The gems and little blue rose are from my stash.

SSCB #14 - Basket Case

Hi all, time for another challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. This fortnight we are looking to see you use baskets in your creations, not Christmas or Easter.


I have made a little set of notelets,in warm colours.
I have used a stamps called Holiday Bundle, which is a winter tree, in a little bag, but I think it suits any occasion.

I have used some neutral patterned papers from Prima Hello Pastel stack, and the image is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Primrose Petals ink.

The mats for the cards are in the co-ordinating colours.
