Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop Event

 Morning all! I'm here for a special Blog Hop event over at Serendipity Stamps! Today we are showcasing two new gorgeous dies from S.S,  a beautiful vintage style Tea Pot Die and Cup.

I'm into easel cards right now, they look really special on a mantelpiece and provide a wow factor for the recipients!  As it's Mother's Day here in the U.K this coming Sunday, I have made a card for my husband's grandmother, who is 91!

I have cut the tea pot and cup in some dark blue Bazzill Swiss Dots card, and layered onto some die cut Spellbinders doilies. I then layered some beautiful Kaisercraft patterned paper with the Bazzill, and layered onto the card base.

I used double sided tape to adhere to pot and cup, and sprinkled some glamour dust onto the cut out patterns, so it's lovely and twinkly. It's a dull day here, so it doesn't show very well.

To make the card 'stand', I cut a panel in the papers, and popped up with foam pads.  I then cut another doily, and stamped the 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiment, and layered them together.

I added some blue pearls, a large blue rose and a little white grosgrain bow topped with a little blue flower.

DP2 Challenge - Embellishments

Hi all, I'm here with an easel card that I've made for my eldest daughter, who will be 14 in May. She's growing up fast, and she's a big fan of cake! So this fabulous image from Mo's Digital Pencil was just the ticket! She's called Cupcake Thief, and I love the determined look on her face...just like my daughter lol!

I've coloured her with Promarkers, and used papers from Pink Petticoat and Trimcraft. As I'm entering this into the Digital Pencil 2 Challenge, I have added loads of embellies. I have also added some stickles for extra sparkle to her wings, the cherry and the flowers, but it doesn't show in the pics too well.

I layered her onto some die cut floral Bazzill and damask paper from Trimcraft, and added lots of Kanban pastel gems on the scallops.

Here's a close up of all the yummy embellishments I used - flowers from Wild Orchid Craft, Hobbyhouse, and a few from my stash. Stick Pins and a pink velvet ribbon bow from The Ribbon Reel Shop complete my embellishments to this card.

Here it is 'flat', yeah, I'm not going to this one in an envelope, but I will probably tuck it into her pressie when the day comes.

SSCB #29 - Stitches Wk 2

Hi all, I'm here with a card for this month's challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. This month our theme is stitching, plus your S.S stamps or dies.

I have debossed the Love die cut onto the pink die cut Heart Solid using S.S dies. I just traced around the edges of the embossed lettering with a grey Promarker ro show it up a bit more.

I used some patterned paper from Hot Off The Press, which has stitching in the pattern.
I added some pink ribbon and some pretty cherry blossoms and lace from The Ribbon Reel shop.

Serendipity Stamps Challenge #29

Hi all, we have a new challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge this month, and for March we would like to see you use stitching or faux stitching on your creations.

 I made a bit of a boo boo in that I forgot the stitches! Oops, sorry everybody, I got the stamps correct :-)

I have made a birthday card for my Father-in-Law. He loves steam trains, and this image is perfect for him.

I coloured the image 'Train Engine' with colour pencils, and mat and layered with some plain card and patterned paper from Webster's Pages. I added Dad to the front  of the card, and kept it simple.

Inside I stamped Happy Birthday in Tuxedo Black.

Lovely Lady..

Good Sunday afternoon all, it's a gloomy and wet day here in West Berkshire, after the lovely blue skies yesterday, I knew it couldn't last lol!

Anyway, I've been doing a bit of colouring this morning, and created a card for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day.

I treated myself to some fabulous images by Rick St Dennis yesterday, and this lovely lady was the first on my wish list! Oh she is gorgeous! She reminds me of Lady Mae in Mr. Selfridge (it's on tonight yippee!) and I couldn't wait to colour her in. She's called 1906 Hat, and you can find her  HERE

I'm having a bit of a purple phase right now, so she had to have a purple hat, and the jewel in her brooch has to be a big amethyst, one of my favourite stones.

I coloured her with Promarkers, and added some glamour dust to her hat trimmings and around the jewel. I used some lovely papers from Trimcraft called New Bloom.

I bordered her with some die cut flourishes from Tattered Lace called Ornamental Rose, cut twice in cream card and twice in purple, then layered together. I then added some butterflies cut using Memory Box dies.

Inside the card I have used a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps, and two little floral butterflies from Stampin' Up!.

Finally I added a little circular sentiment from Love Circles set on the front using a Wild Rose Studios sentiment, and some Prima gems to her hat pin and the butterflies.

I love this card, and my daughter loves it too, it will be hard to part with but I know it will be going to a good home!

Hat: Sorbet, Amethyst, Red Violet, Lilac, Winterberry, Umber.
Bird Wings: Warm Grey1, 5, Grey Squirrel.
Hair: Burnt Orange, Spice, Terracotta, Henna, Cocoa, Black.
Skin: Satin, Pastel Pink, Oatmeal. Lips - Dusky rose, Antique Pink, Rose Peach.
Eyes: Apple, Forest Green, Sea Green.

Serendipity Stamps Challenge - Newsprint/Sheet Music

Hi all, it's our two week reminder of Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog, to use Newsprint or Sheet Music in your creations, along with your S.S dies or stamps.


The design team are this week showcasing colour blending. On my card I have used Promarkers to create the colour graduated background , over which I have stamped the Sentiment "You're Just my Cup of Tea' and the little heart adorned cup.

The text background was stamped using a hero Arts stamp, and Rich Razzleberry ink from Stampin' Up!

I used a base of Rich Razzleberry as my mat, and before adhering together I wrapped some ivory button twine and a little bow to the top.

WMFC Take 3!

Morning all, it's a bright sunny day here in West Berkshire, a welcome relief from the storms and rain we have had this past week.

Well, I do love these colours, and this little stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps, I love those sweet dolls! So I had to make another card for the Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge!

I have a ton of Washi Tape, that I have bought in the past, and got it home only to discover I don't really know what to do with it! Anyway, I've had these purpley coloured tapes for at least a year, I think I got them from Paperchase and I had to use them for this challenge! They are the perfect colours!

I just cut the tape into a banner tip at the ends, and stuck to a card base, stamped the sentiment and layered the already cut doll on top! Simple! Took about 5 minutes, the quickest card I've ever made!

Well, as it's such a lovely day, we are going to attempt a walk, but trying to fins somewhere accessible and not flooded may be tricky.
