Less is More

Morning all, I have a couple of cards to share for this week's Less is More challenge, which want's to see some green. So suitably festive, and I'm behind on my cards too, so I haa bit of a think. I need to make a few to send overseas with minimal embellishments, so decided to make a card where embossing was the focus of the design.

My first card is a small 4x4 card, and I have embossed the little holly leaf design in clear embossing powder onto some pale green card from a Martha Stewart pack.

I then stamped the little holly bewrries separately and used Whit Pearls embossing powder for a subtle transluscent shimmery effect.

I also stamped the quirky little frame and sentiment in the White Pearls too, and added some tiny green gems. Finally added a thin piece of cream ribbon to the side.

My next card was stamped with a different holly leaf stamp, embossed with clear powder around a 4x4 darker green card panel, and the sentiment embossed in white.

Finally added some tiny green gems for a little glitter.

I'm so pleased with how they turned out, and I'm going to make a batch of these today for posting overseas.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Less is More - Green

Cupcake Inspirations

Crafty Catz Challenge

Party Time Tuesdays

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy, Very Vintage Christmas - Waltzingmouse Stamps

Ink: Versamark

Paper/Card: Martha Stewart Paper Stack

Other: White Embossing Powder, White Pearls E.P, Clear E.P; Green Gems from stash

Thanks for stopping by, I'll be back shortly with my DT card for this week's new challenge at Charisma Cardz!

It's so difficult to photograph this kind of embossing, but I love the second one particularly!
Thanks so much

I'm unsure which card I like more. Both are wonderful. I think I'm more leaning more to the first card. I just love the less is more concept and you do such a terrific job creating these types of cards.

Ah, the perfect cards to put into the mail! The postman will love you for it. :) The embossing gives the cards lots of textural interest, even though they are only one layer.

I love the shine your embossing gives this. Such a pretty color too. (green's my favorite!) I love how clean and simple yet elegant this is. Thanks for playing at Party Time Tuesdays this week. See you again soon.
