WMSC #106

 Hi all, I'm getting in early this week for today's new Waltzingmouse sketch Challenge.
I love this sketch, and it's one I will use again. I decided to make a re-start on my Christmas cards. I had all good intentions of keeping up to date with them this year, and not lag behind, but it just hasn't happened.

So today's card is a concerted effort to get some more Christmas  cards done, so be prepared to see some more festive fare from me in the next few weeks!

I have used a white card base, sponged the edges with Antique Linen, and layered some dark green card on top, also distressed with Antique linen.

I created the band in the middle by repeatedly stamping the sentiment Merry & Bright, from Around Christmas Time   in Frayed Burlap. I set this aside, and created a holly wreath background  using the little wreath from the same set,  and the little cross shape from Cameo Creations. I then sponged around the edges, and distressed with my scissors.

I created the two labels with gold embossing powder and three WMS labels, from Very Vintage labels 2 and Around Christmas Time. I layered the sentiment label onto a kraft doily cut using an MFT die.
I added the sentiment to the kraft tag from Frame It!

I tied two little jingle bells together with some peppermint twine from The Ribbon Reel, topped with a red rose.

I added little pearls around the sentiment label...

And some larger ones to the tag to represent the berries.

I love this card! I'm feeling very festive!

WMSC #105

 Hi all, just getting in under the wire (again!) for this week's Waltzingmouse sketch Challenge! I was delighted to have been chosen as a Top Mouse at WMSC last week, thank so much ladies, it made my day!

With these last couple of weeks of school, we have had a variety of school related performances, sports days, concerts and a couple of music exams for good measure! So I do find I'm running out of time to take part in my favourite challenges (boo!)  I for one will be glad when the term finally finishes next Thursday!

Anyway, I have made a card for my daughter's teacher, in year 5.
I used a mix of stamp sets from Waltzingmouse, and followed the sketch down to a tee!

I have used Very Vanilla card as a base, and stamped the pretty pattern builder stamp from French country in Old Paper distress ink.

I then stamped the same pattern in a blue chalk ink from a little Papermania bundle of inks - they were in a stack pack, and none of the inks have a name! And the red is Memento Ladybug red.
I backed this onto some cadet blue bazzill.

I stamped the label from French Country in Tuxedo black, and stamped the small oval from the newly released My Island set in Brilliance Metallic Blue.
The sentiment is from Frame it! and My Island - Chillax is in the same font as the sentiments in the Frame it set, and I loved the idea of pairing them up, to wish her teacher a chillaxing time!

I then stamped twice in blue and twice in red the decorative banner from Bitty Banners, and trimmed the red starred edges out and layered them onto the blue banners.

Finally assemble the card together and added some red gems to the banner middles.

DYSU #80 - Cool Colours

Hi all today brings us another challenge from DYSU, and this week we would like to see you use..




Cool Colours - so use the colours in the inspiration photo, or your interpretation of this theme, but they must be cool!

I have made a card using the fun Happy Birthday Balloon from The Stamping Boutique, one of our generous sponsors this week.

I coloured the fab image with Pro and Flexmarkers and cut with a Go Create die.

I added some little punched flowers made with a Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Punch. I added some pale green pearl drops to the image panel, and to the centres of the little flowers.

The sentiment is by Uniko Studios FONTiments Birthday set, stamped onto a little die cut doily using a PTI die.

The backing panel was created using some lovely Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane papers, matted onto some Stampin' Up! Poppy Parade card. I used a Martha Stewart edger punch on the layered papers in the middle, and added a seam binding bow, in Bay Leaf (from The Ribbon Reel) under the sentiment doily.

The Ribbon Reel #31 - Sweet Sparkles

Morning all, it's Monday, and that means it's another new challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge!

This week, the inspiration has been chosen by the lovely Fran, and would like us to use the colours in the picture, and to use sparkle and add a Heart.

I used a stamp from Woodware, and made a sweet Baby card for a girl.

I stamped in a variety of pink inks four different patterns from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I then stamped the image four times, and selected which pieces from each pattern to use - that took me a while lol, I can never make up my mind!

When i had chosen, i stamped the image onto some plain white card, and stuck the pieces done before cutting with a Spellbinders Labels 18 die.

I stamped the hearts from the same stamp set in the patterns, cut our and arranged along the bottom of my card base.

I added two strips of 10mm Pink Striped Grosgrain, and ruffled over the top of this some Faux Silk in Ivory. Then I layered some pink Loop Trim on top. Finally I added some 6mm Ivory Silk Pearl hearts to the little loop bow and small stamped hearts. To add some sparkle, i added some glamour dust to the hearts and the little flowers on the elephant's back and trunk, and just above the ribbon strip.

CR84FN #58

 Morning all, well we are almost in the middle of July, unbelievable for us here in the U.K as we have had such grim weather! My welly boots and rain macs (yes I have two!) have never had so much use.
Now I know as a nation us Brits are consumed with thoughts of the weather, but compared to the rest of my family, it has never really bothered me..until this past 6 weeks!! I'm so glad we booked two weeks in the south of France at the start of the school holidays, we all need some warmth and sunshine.

Well what better to boost our rain sodden mood than with a bright and cheery colour challenge from this week's CR84FN. Nothing says summer to me more than a bright bunch of flowers, and Gerbera daisies are one of my favourites.

This week's colour challenge is to use Yellow, Red and a neutral, and as soon as I saw the fab graphic, with pictures from Style Me Pretty.com, I knew exactly which stamp set to use. My Flourishes Gerbera Daisies set, with the beautiful bunch of flowering gerberas was the perfect image for these warm colours.

I used some red gingham papers from stash, and some lovely patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Baby Jane stack to create the backing panel. I cut these to size, and used a Fiskars edger punch along one side, then layered these papers onto some bazzill kraft card.

I coloured the beautiful bunch of gerberas with Promarkers, cut out and layered onto a piece of cream card cut with a Spellbinders Rectangle.

I then cut a smaller rectangle, and stamped a greeting from Waltzingmouse Stamps Rescue Remedies Additions, in Tuxedo Black.

I added two flourish accents to the back of this using some kraft card and the little label motif in Spellbinders Persian Accents. I then topped off each flourish with a yellow or neutral rose.

I ran a length of satin pale gold ribbon and some red ric rac over the join of the two DPs, added a little layered butterfly and finished off with a little gold gem in the middle of each gerbera.

WMSC, PDCC, & Moxie Fab

 Hi all, today I have a card for a commission for a friend. She has been invited to a renewal of vows ceremony, so it's a wedding but not a wedding! I immediately thought of the fab phrase from Waltzingmouse Stamps Fancy Phrases set, 'Happy Foreverness', and I worked my card around that.

For inspiration I followed this week's Waltzingmouse sketch Challenge, and took the colours from this week's Play Date Cafe. It also fits quite nicely with the Moxie Fab challenge of Congratulations.

My card base is a heavy matt gold card stock, and the patterned paper was created using Waltzingmouse Stamps Text It set, stamped in Old paper Distress Ink, my take on nude!
Then overstamped in Versamark and embossed in gold the flourishes also from WMS Flourishes Scallops and Dots set.

The large label is also from WMS Very Vintage Labels 18, also stamped in Versamark and gold embossed. I stamped the sentiment from Fancy Phrases onto some text stamped card in tuxedo black and cut using a Spellbinders Fancy Frame, and sponged some Antique Linen before removing from the frame. I added a couple of little flourishes from Afternoon Tea Sentiments to the sentiment.

I wrapped some beautiful 'nude' colour lace which was sent to me from my lovely friend Helen for my birthday, it's so pretty, thanks so much! I then wrapped a thin piece of silver ribbon over this and added a little silver bow.

I stamped the fern leaves from Stampin' Up! Growing Green set, and embossed them in silver and hand cut around the tips to create the leaves behind the neutral cherry blossoms, and added a couple of pearly pins.
Finally I added some bling using some Prima Say it in Crystals, they are so sparkly, I love them.

I had some lovely news at the start of this week, I Made Top 3 at The Shabby Tearoom with this card, which also made Top 3 at Creative Inspirations too, thank you so much.

And I was thrilled to find I made CAS-ual Fridays VIP on Friday with this card, again thanks so much ladies.

Well amazingly the sun has made an appearance this afternoon, so the washing is on the line and the windows are open to let the fresh air in - it won't last though, we are forecast more rain tomorrow!

DYSU #79 - Red

Hi all, today I have a card for the new challenge at DYSU!

This week we would like to see your creations with the predominant colour of...

 This week, I have made a card using some lovely products from The Ribbon Reel, one of our generous sponsors this week.

I needed a quick get well card, so I thought of using some new papers by Cosmo Cricket and a matching sweet tag, both available from the Ribbon Reel.

I cut some red patterned paper from Baby Jane paper stack to size, and matted onto some Bazzill Kraft card. I then cut a central panel in kraft, edged with a Martha Stewart punch.

 Onto this I layered a tag label from Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane Element Deck, and stamped the Get Well greeting from Waltzingmouse Stamps Compact Sentiments-Part Two. I topped off the tag with a Christmas Rose Red Hellebore and Celery Green Loop Trim, all from The Ribbon Reel.

Finally I added a Waltzingmouse Sentiment and some red flat back pearls.
