DYSU #63 - Favourite Colour

Hi all, today we have a great challenge at DYSU - this week we want to see your creations made using your FAVOURITE colour! Woo-Hoo! What are you waiting for?



And here's my favourite colour to create with!



Yep, it's purple! I have used a digi image from Karen's Doodles called shopping Day, and coloured with Promarkers.


I cut the image with Spellbinders Labels 2, and layered onto some purple Bazill. The patterned paper is from Trimcrafts new range, Spring Drop.

I added some Lilac Seam Binding and a fancy bow topped with an oversize button and twine bow.

Finally added a sentiment from Wild rose Studios Love Circles set.

CR84FN, Retro Sketches

Good morning all, I have a very quick post today, as I'm off out to meet a friend, for whom this card is for! It's a very special birthday for her, you know, one of those one's with a 0 so I better not keep her waiting lol!

My card is based on two challenges, CR84FN, and the new Retro Sketches: and I'm also entering this into this month's Pretty Little Ribbon Shop Challenge.



And here's my take:



Papers are by Echo Park, and stamps are by Waltzingmouse and Prickley Pear.




I've used lots of lovely bling, and pretty stitching on this card, I really wanted it to be special!




The orange rose and bakers twine is from the Ribbon reel.

Fussy & Fancy..

...for this week's Waltzingmouse sketch Challenge! This week's sketch is a fab design by Renee Lynch, and it was just the thing to get my poor mojo going, as it has been sadly lacking of late!




Coupled with this fab sketch, I have taken inspiration from this week's colourQ, which would like us to use the following colours:


So, I pulled out my new Waltzingmouse goodies, and spent a couple of hours this afternoon tinkering with this:




The gorgeous pattern was created using two pattern strips from the newly released French Country, stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with Promarkers in Pear Green, Salmon Pink and Baby Pink.



I then cut to size the panel, and mounted it onto some green cor'dinations card, the nearest colour I had to Certainly Celery, although I know it's a bit deeper than the graphic, it's all I had in my stash.


I wrapped some Baby Pink seam binding around the middle, and added a little bow with a green button and twine bow to the top.

I then stamped the small label from the newly released Very Vintage labels 25, and coloured in the edges of two with a Promarker.

Then, I stamped the little flowers from French Country, coloured with Promarkers, and mounted onto the card. Finally stamped the sentiment in distress Ink Peeled Paint, added to the card, and finished off the petal point edge with some pale pink gems.

I love the decorative look to this card, the patterned panels are so versatile, I have about 10 ideas I now wish to create!

DYSU #62 - Going Green!

Morning all, today brings us a new challenge from DYSU. This week, we would like to see any Going Green projects - so either based around the colour green or using recycled materials.




I have based my card on the colour green, using a very cute stamp from Wild Rose Studios, called Party Fergus.




I have coloured him with Promarkers, and cut using oval nesties, then mounted onto a lacy oval Marianne Designs frame in blue textured card by Papermania.



The green spotty and argyle patterned paper is from Craftwork Cards, and the blue seam binding and green loop trim wrap is from The Ribbon Reel.

The Ribbon Reel Challenge # 23 - Newsprint

Good morning Blogland, today I have a card for the new challenge at The Ribbon Reel, this week hosted by Keilly Mulvihill. Keilly has asked that we use newsprint on our creations for this fortnight's challenge, and here's the inspiration pic:



And here's my card:



I have the Hero Arts Newspaper background stamp, and used it with Rich Cocoa ink on some white card, then distressed with Old Paper and Antique Linen inks.




I then created a button tag using Papertrey Ink's Button Boutique set, and some kraft card which I had stamped with the newsprint stamp in Tea Dye Ink.




The two little doilies were cut using MFT dies, and papers from Webster's Pages and MME Miss Caroline stack. Before adhering to the card, I stitched around the base panel in fawn thread, and wrapped some beautiful crochet lace and velvet ribbon around the base.

The buttons have been threaded with some burlap twine from The Ribbon Reel.
Finally I added the sentiment from PTI's Mat Stack 1, and some yellow pearls from stash.

I have used the colour palette from CR84FN this week, which has a colour theme of Yellow, Kraft and Grey.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday, colourQ, JUGs Sketch

I've had my eye on the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge for a little while now, but haven't been able to join in as I didn't have any Flourishes stamps. Last week, I finally got my hands on a set, from Make The Day Special, and today I inked up the main image from this set. For colour inspiration I've used this weeks colour palette from colourQ, and for sketchy inspiration I have used the sketch from Just Us Girls.






And here's my take:




The set I have used is Gerbera Daisies, and I coloured this image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I cut the image using the out of the box technique and large circle nesties.


I stiched some beautiful damask patterned yellow paper from Webster's Pages onto some brown Bazill, then cut a green swiss dot embossed card for the centre panel.

I then cut two borders in brown bazill using a PTI die, and layered the image onto a larger brown patterned piece of Webster's Pages paper.



I assembled all together, and added some yellow gingham and button twine for some rustic charm - nothing say Country comfort to me more than a bit of gingham!

Finally added some Tiny Tags and some orange and yellow gems.
