Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop - Scor Pal Project

 Hi all, today I have a creation for the Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop. This week, the Design Team have been asked to create something using a Scor-Pal - I have used my trusty Martha Stewart scoring board!

I have made a Christmas wine bottle wrapper - we do tend to give gifts of whisky and other spirits for Christmas, so I think I will be making a few more of these, so much cheaper than buying ready made ones!

To recreate this bottle holder you will need to start with some sturdy 12 x 12 card.

Then using the bone folder, score at 2 1/2 ", 5 1/2 ", 8", and 11".

Turn the card 90' and score along 21/2" to create the bottom folds.

Fold along all score lines, and snip the folds along the bottom as shown:

Add some sturdy scor-tapealong the edges. My boo-boo - I added tape to the fourth bottom panel on the right hand side - this will be the base of your wine holder, so try not to do this1 However, I just added a piece of patterned paper to the bottom, so it worked out ok!

After assembling, this is what you should end up with!

so, now you can decorate your holder in any way you wish! I chose to go with a christmas theme, and taking some Real Red Stampin' Up! card, I stamped the beautiful snowflake flourishes and embossed with Stampendous Aged Silver powder.

I added a tag stamped with Tis The Season in Cottage Ivy ink onto some Naturals ivory card, and sponged around the edges with Sahara Sand ink. Added some little red gems for a bit of sparkle and a large gold wired bow.

The snowflakes really shine, and have a beautiful aged effect with this embossing powder, to which I also added some clear gems for a bit more sparkle!

I cut a handle using some of the patterned paper and some of the green for a mat, and attached using some pearly brads and lots of adhesive!

It's surprisingly strong!

WMSC #117, cQc #156, The Pretty Little Ribbon shop..

Hi all, this is my second post for today, if you are looking for my card for The Ribbon Reel Challenge, please scroll down.

I saw the gorgeous colour pallette over at colourQ this weekend, and I just had to play along!
I combined this with the wonderful sketch over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, and the new challenge at The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop, which is asking for the colours of autumn. Perfect!

And here's my take:

I have made a card using four WMS stamp sets - Compact sentiments, Big Blooms, Text It! and Bountiful Baskets.

I stamped the background using the smaller blooms from the Big Blooms set, stamped in Dried Marigold and Memento Potter's Clay inks to mirror the Dusty Durango and Pumpkin Pie colours.
I then stamped the text panel in Frayed Burlap to mirror the soft Suede colour, and the card base and mats are Rich Razzleberry card. I need to get me some more S.U inks!

I stamped the little WMS basket in Frayed Burlap, and tinted with some antique Linen.

I then stamped some separate little blooms, and cut them out. Arranged these 'in' the basket, and attached to an oval die cut layered onto a scalloped oval.

Inside, I added another piece of the stamped floral background with some white card to write the message. I had a spare little bloom, so added that, and stamped the sentiment in Frayed Burlap using a WMS sentiment.

Finally, I wrapped some two tone hemp for a bit more 'soft suede', tied a couple of bows, and added a pumpkin coloured gem.

I was pleasantly surprised by these colours, I would never have thought to use them together.

CR84FN #64

Hi all, it's a new colour challenge today over at CR84FN, and it's a really beautiful combo! Light Blue, Yellow and Green.

I have used my favourite Waltzingmouse Stamps for a birthday card for my daughter's friend - she turned 13 on Friday, and this was deemed not too babyish for her !

I have used the lovely Nordic Spring to create the stamped background in Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint distress inks, stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

I then stamped the knit style circle using WMS Faux Fun Circles, and cut with nesties. I then cut a scalloped circle in blue Bazzill card stock, and layered this onto a yellow Bazzill circle also cut with nesties.

The sentiment is from WMS Compact Sentiments stamped in Frayed Burlap distress ink.

Before assembling I wrapped some green ruffled satin ribbon from Stampin' Up! and some blue waffle style ribbon around the middle.. I then added two waffle ribbon bows in blue and green topped with co-ordinating paper roses. I then layered the stamped panel onto some blue and yellow bazzill card.

Finally I added some gems to the flower middles and the sentiment circle.

PDCC #151

Hi all, I have a card today for this week's Play Date Cafe. I haven't played along here for a while, my time just seems to be running away from me - how is it almost October already??!

 I love the rich warm colours for this week, and I took some time out this morning to get a bit inky!

 Here's the colour palette:

To recreate these autumnal colours, I used a new Memento ink called Potter's Clay, such a lovely colour. For the green shade i used Bundled Sage Distress Ink, and for the Wine colour I used Memento Rhubarb Stalk.

First I stamped in Bundled Sage a background with my PTI stamps set Harvest Berries, with one of the smaller leaf images.

I then cut the label using my PTI Mat Stack 1 die, and stamped the frame from the Mat Stack 1 stamp set in Potter's Clay. The Sentiment is from Uniko Studios Fontiment fancies set, stamped in Rhubarb Stalk.

I then cut a couple of the leafy images using my Harvest Berries dies, and stamped the leaves in Bundled Sage and Frayed Burlap.

I topped these off with a twine bow and moss coloured gem.

I then inked a card base and kraft card panel with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress inks, before stitching the stamped card to the kraft.

I then took some natural crochet lace, and coloured it this dark red using the Rhubarb Stalk ink. Wrapped this around the stamped card with some twine, and attached to the card base. 

Finally I added some moss gems to the label!

As well as The Play Date Cafe, I would like to enter this into this week's Tuesday Throwdown, which wants to see Fall Colors.

DYSU # 91 - Scallops

Hi all, we have a new challenge over at DYSU, and this week, we would like to see Scallops on your creations!

I have made a card using one of our generous Sponsor's images, Henney Penny. Isn't she adorable?

I stamped her in Toffee Crunch ink, and coloured with Promarkers, and i like this 'invisible lines' looks, it's lovely and soft, like a Mother Hen!

After cutting her out with a scallopped circle nestie I layered her onto some patterned paper from Stampin' Up!, and edged the striped piece with a scallop Fiskars punch.

I added a little sentiment using Tiny Tags from PTI, using the scalloped label from the set.



Finally I added some coloured chiffon ribbon and some green gems for some sparkle.

CR84FN 63 Wk 2

Welcome friends, I'm here this morning with a card to share for this week's CR84FN Color Challenge, and it's week 2 for out colours of Denim, Tan and Brown.

I have made a CAS Thank You card, using one of my many neglected embossing folders!
I used the Damask Design folder by Crafts Too, on some Portal blue Core'dinations card stock - I love this colour! I sanded back to reveal the paler blue core, very faded denim!

I cut a strip of some Stampin' Up! Brown stripe grosgrain ribbon (Love!) and stamped a sentiment label using the newly released Label Love - Thank You from Uniko Studios, stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Finally I added some clear gems for some sparkle.

DYSU # 90 - Use a Flag

Hi all, today we have another fun challenge over at DYSU! This week, we would like to see a Flag or Pennants on your creations!

I was lucky to have been able to choose a fab image from one of our generous sponsors The Stamping Boutique. I have used this magical image called Crystal Ball.

It reminded me of Sleeping Beauty for some reason, so i chose some clinbing rose papers from Trimcraft's new paper stack, Garden Party.

I coloured the globe with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, and layered it onto a layered die cut fancy flourish.

I then layered this onto some ruffled green satin trim and some pink striped grosgrain both from The Ribbon Reel. I added three stamped pennants by Waltzingmouse Stamps, and added some Stickles to the clouds for a little sparkle.
