Serendipity Stamps Challenge #6

Hi all, today brings another new challenge from the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog! This fortnight, we have a fun theme - Things are Not as They Should Be! So, use an image or die from Serendipity Stamps for a theme which is completely different to the stamp - i.e. a Christmas stamp/die for a birthday, or an Easter image for a New home - just let your imagination swing!

I have used the Bayleaf Wreath, a traditional Christmas image. I really wanted to jazz it up with some flowers for an Easter card, and some Easter themed papers.

I coloured the image with Promarkers, and added some paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts over the pine cone detail in the image - it worked a treat!

I added some stickles to the flowers and dotted about on the wreath, and added this to some lovely easter themed papers from Trimcraft Spring Drop stack - you can just see the cute bunny peeping out of his warren! I popped on a few pink pearls for some shine.

I added some pink and Ivory lace velvet trim from The Ribbon Reel, and layered onto a mat of Gumball Green card. I finally stamped the Easter greeting, also from Serendipity Stamps.

TRR #47

Hi all, I'm back with the very happy news that I am a part of The RibbonReel family again! I have really missed being a part of this challenge, and this week's beautiful inspiration pic is just the thing to get my poor mojo into gear!

This week, Lenet has chosen this fab pic to inspire us - well I love cake, and I love purple! She asks that we use the colours in the photo and use Ruffles in our creations.

And here's my take:

I began by stamping a doily background using Waltzingmouse Stamps in a variety of purples - Wisteria Wonder from Stampin' Up!, Milled Lavender distress ink and Elderberry from Memento.

I then stamped the fab cake image from Waltzingmouse Stamps in the same inks including Shaded Lilac and Tattered Rose.

I cut the image using a Spellbinders frame, and added some clear gems and a little Purple bakers twine boe from The ribbon Reel.

I then added some Sheer Box Pleat White trim also from The Ribbon Reel to the bottom of the card, and added a sentiment from the WMS set.

I am entering this into this month's Waltzingmouse Blog party, which wants Doilies in our creations.

Saturated Canary Challenge...

 Hi all, it's been a long time since I was here last! I'm seriously lacking my crafty mojo, I miss it, please come back!!

In an effort to stoke the fire, I had a little peruse of the lovely images over at Saturated Canary. I have only used my Promarkers once this year (yes it's that bad!) and I thought one of these gorgeous images would perk me up!

I purchased more than one (ahem!) and I just love this gorgeous girl. She reminds me of the heroine in The Hunger games Trilogy, Katniss Everdeen. I read all those books last year, back to back on holiday in four days! Loved them!

Anyway, here she is...

I went with Blues and Greys for her outfit, and I'm fairly pleased with the result, given that I'm a bit rusty haha! I used a combination of Promarkers and Flexmarkers - I did make a list of the colours I used, but there's way too many to type here, but if anyone wants to know the colour combos just pop me an email!

I cut her out using a Sissix Framelits dies #3 - I love these dies, they are so clever - They cut the shape you can see, and also a skinny frame! Two die cuts from one die! It makes 'matting' an image so easy!

I cut her out first, then cut another label shape using some teal bazzil card, and used the skinny frame to frame her with. Simple!

I used a couple of PTI Tiny Tags and the 'Love you' sentiment topped with a twine bow and pearly brad.

For some floral prettiness I added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a couple of co-ordinating flourishes using some Memory Box dies.

For some glitter I added some Stickles to the flowers, and around the frame. The pretty backing paper is from my stash, and is one of the first papers I ever bought when I first started crafting!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge

 Hi all, today I have a little Easter themed creation for this fortnight's Serendipity Stamps Blog challenge.

This fortnight the challenge is to create something using your Scor-Pal, or other scoring board. We have a prize from Scor-Pal for one lucky winner of a Scor board, and the Serendipity Stamps special this week is Free Shipping on any U.S order of $10 or more, and runs from Feb 6th until Feb 13th.

I have made a little gift box, using the instruction found on the Scor-Pal website HERE. The instructions were so easy to follow, and with my scoring board I made this in about 15 minutes! Of course the decoration took a little longer! This was surely faster than hopping in my car, kids in tow, find a parking space, trip to the shop and forking out for a gift box for really any occasion!

As my box topper, I have used the lovely Serendipity Stamps image of Jeanie's Easter Basket.

I used Promarkers to colour the image to match the pretty papers by Trimcraft, from the Summer Breeze stack.

I cut the image with a Spellbinders oval nestie, and edged with a Spellbinders fancy trim from Venetian Motifs set.

A card for a Few challenges..

Hi all, I have a card today for three challenges - colourQ, Retrosketches and the Waltzingmouse Stamps Washi Tape Challenge.

Here's my take:

The washi tape is made with Stampin' Up! inks Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. The brown ink is Memento Espresso Truffle.

The mat card is also Primrose Petals and the card base is Very Vanilla.

The pretty floral spray are flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the little leaves are WMS leaf images stamped in Espresso Truffle and hand cut.

Short and sweet today, I'm in a big hurry! I'll be back later with a list of the stamps I used!

WMS Technique Challenge..

Hi all, I finally got around to claire's challenge over at Waltzingmouse Makes -  the challenge is a technique called Chalkboard. Hmm... I thunk and thunk as Winnie the Pooh would say, but my brain was resisting.

I went through a few ideas, and pulled out all of my WMS stamp sets, tried out an idea or two before chucking them in the bin. Went to bed. Got up this morning, and tried again, and here's my card, for my boy, because he is amazing!

 I went with this cute little chap, as he really suits the theme - a chalkboard, or as we used to call them when I was a little girl, a blackboard.

I white embossed the little guy from Half Pint heroes - additions, and added the sentiments from the same set - the 'my Boy' is from Half Pint Heroines and this additions set.

I stamped the little stars from Yonder Star, and clear embossed - by accident lol! I picked up the wrong bottle, but I think I prefer them clear and shiny!

Then I had a little think about how I was going to mount him. I decided to stamp a plaid background from Offbeat Backgrounds in Memento Teal Zeal and Rhubarb Stalk.

I added a few shaped buttons, stamped the images again over the embossed images and rubbed a bit of white Brilliance ink over the topper. It makes my eyes go funny! Inside I stamped the sentiment 'And I was so proud of him' with the little teddy in Teal Zeal.

So an interesting technique, but, I think I need more practice!

SSCB #4 - Have a Care

Hi all, I have my card today for the Serendipity Stamps challenge Blog, albeit a few days late, but I made it!

This next fortnight, our theme is to 'Have a Care'.  Use one of the Have a Care images Serendipity Stamps offers free with your purchase.  Designs are to highlight a cause (examples including but not limited to Breast Cancer Awareness, Adoption, Recycle, Pet Adoption, etc).  Please note that a Serendipity Stamps image must be displayed somewhere on your design.   Don't have a stamp?  You can grab our free digital image HERE- just cut and paste into Word.

So today my card features the free image which you can nab from the challenge blog. I love the elegant swirls, and regency style font - so pretty!

 I have created my own background paper using the beautiful Spencerian Flourishes Cling Set, stamped in Memento Espresso ink onto naturals Ivory cardstock.

With the theme of recycling, I used some tan coloured satin ribbon which I kept from some new clothes - they are the little loops of ribbon manufacturers use on the inside of the shoulders of tops. I wrapped this around the background four times. 

I then cut a label in Soft suede card, and a smaller label in Naturals ivory, stamped with the  recycle sentiment. I added some clear gems, and attached to the card. I topped it off with a recycled flower and raffia bow, which I had used for a wine tag two years ago.
