Less is More, Aud Sentiments, Paper Sundaes

Hi all, I have a CAS card today for the Less is more challenge, Aud Sentiments challenge blog and Paper sundaes challenge blog.

Less is More wanted a masculine themed card, which, quite frankly, left me quaking in my boots! Sorry, but I find it very hard to do men's cards, as from personal experience, they either don't care or prefer a humorous or rude card lol!

Anyhow, I made a get well card in what I think are masculine colours. I didn't want to use black or brown, as many people have already done that, so hopefully this will fit the bill.

I have used a Martha Stewart punch on some new paper I bought last week when I treated myself - it's from a new paper stack by Wild Rose Studio called Cherry Cupcake. I love their papers and I have most of their paper stack and a number of their stamps, but I don't get round to using them as much as I should! Layered this zig zag strip onto another piece cut using some rich plum Core'dinations card.

The sentiment is by Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Gardens set in Memento Grape Jelly.

I felt it looked a little bare, so I added some candy dots in co-ordinating colours by Craftwork Cards.

This version is my personal favourite, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline xx

I love this card - its so stylish and the punch works perfectly for a masculine card. Would never have thought to use them just on their own. I prefer the version with the candy - just makes it pop.

"I didn't want to use black or brown, as many people have already done that..." Kudos to you! Not so easy for a masculine card - but you did it with panache. Dots give it just a bit more - and still CAS. Both are great!

What a great card! I love the pattern and the colours and think it makes a perfect male card. I don't think it even needs the dots!

I think the candy dots really make it pop, great colours used, and you're right, it's too easy to reach for the darker colours for masculine cards. Well done for stepping outside of that!
