TRR #49 - Spring Cottage

Hi all, it's time for a new challenge today over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog! This week, the inspiration has been chosen by Tammy. What a beautiful picture, a sign of things to come! Washing drying in the fresh spring air, and some pretty flowers blooming in the window box - well it would be nice but right now the weather is still like winter, and it's sooo cold!

Tammy asks that we use the colours from the picture - Aqua, Pink and Yellow, and use a flower and ribbon.

I took my inspiration from the sweet bicycle image - I have a few bike images but I wanted to use this vintage style image from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration catalogue. I have so many new stamps that I am determined to try and use them all at least once this year!

I stamped the image in Broken China Distress ink onto Naturals ivory cardstock, and cut with a circular nestie, backed with a pink scalloped circle.

This penny-farthing image makes me think of Sherlock Holmes and grimy Victorian London Streets, which made me think of the houndstooth pattern - I'm sure S.H. had a houndstooth coat or waistcoat! - so I used a Houndstooth embossing folder also from Stampin' Up!, on some aqua card.

O wrapped some Pink Gingham and Forsythia Seam Binding around the middle, and topped with Pleated Pink Trim, all from The Ribbon Reel shop. I added the image, and a seam binding bow topped with a Light/Dark Pink 40mm paper Rose, and two pins from The Ribbon Reel Shop.

I added a pink Houndstooth stamped panel to the top, with a sentiment from Stampin' Up! Feel Goods set. I liked the sentiment, and thought it went well with the bike image. I added a pastel pearlescent gem to the bike centre, and some smaller ones to the sentiment panel.

Do stop by the rest of the design team for some gorgeous inspirations!

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline

This is just gorgeous Pauline! I love the way you used houndstooth with the penny farthing image and that brad in the big wheel is a fab touch. I'd be quite surprised if SH wore those colours though LOL! Vicky x
