Here's the sketch:

Then using the star image from WMS Seasons of Love set I have stamped in versamrk and embossed with white pearls embossing powder onto some turquoisey patterened paper that I got last year from the craft show at Newbury Racecourse - it was in a mixed pack from an independant seller so I don't have the manufacturer's name. Cut out using my Nestabilities star shapes.
Stamped a circle from WMS Vintage Circles in Turquoise Gem, and cut using my nesties circles small.

Adhered the stamped flower image, coloured with promarkers, from WMS Spring Baskets and added some Ice stickles for some shimmer.
Tied a bow and attached to the top of the star with a button I rescued from a Christmas card.
Then I made a boo-boo.

I stamped the sentiment straight onto the card, BUT I smudged it with my hand as I applied the stickles! I was so cross I could have cried, as everything had been stuck down already! Grrrr!

What a wally. So I stamped the sentiment again and added the little butterfly to the little panel, but really I would have preferred not to have had to use this! Live and Learn don't we?
Finally I corner chomped the edges, and I am happy, but not delighted with it. Next time, I'll apply the stickles first!
Thanks for stopping by
Pauline xx

This is so pretty Pauline. What a shame about the smudge, but I would have done exactly the same as you and covered it with another sentiment, however the card looks slightly different in the photo!
Thanks for joining us and I hope we see you again next week!

such a pretty card.

Pauline, looks like you put a lot of work into this beautiful card. I know how much it upset me when I make a mess of my card...good fix you made!
Love the colours you've used, shame about the smudge. It can be so frustrating but at least you've managed to fix it. x
This is a lovely card. Love your layout. I think we've all had smudges to rectify at some point, and you resolved yours really well.
Beautiful card. I've had to do that trick too but I'm not as brave as you and kept it a secret!

So pretty Pauline.. I love the way you embossed the top half of your card and great colors :)
love your card
Lovely fresh card, Pauline. Great layout! I hope you win! AND...you're not a wally! I couldn't count the times that I have done exactly the same as you.
Lovely card and very pretty colours, good fix with the smudging ,I did my card twice and still was not happy with it !
Pauline - this is so beautiful. I always have a problem with the less is more...I need to work on that because your card is just stunning and how wonderful your sweet little flowers look wonderful nestled in your star! WELL DONE!
Lovely card Pauline..........Don't you just hate it when you get to the final detail and have a mishap!!!! It happens to us all though!
Can't tell you how many times I've smudged a sentiment or stamped it crooked at the last minute! great save on this lovely card Pauline! I love the pearlescent card and soft blues on this! super sketch card GF!!
Pauline - this is just lovely - so pretty and I adore the soft blues! Such a shame about the smuge - but you managed to save the card!!
Lovely card! Well done for covering over the frustating "creative opportunity!".
Hugs, Sandra
I have tonnes of cards with "extra bits" to cover my mistakes. I subscribe to the Bob Ross approach - there is no such thing as a mistake, just a happy accident! Love the overall look you've achieved.
Oh how frustrating and I guess it would have been more CAS if it hadn't smudged. Love your colour choices.
Really pretty, love the fresh blue and white!
Perfect color combo, and I love how you embossed just the top half of the background, very creative!
That's a very different sketch isn't it but you've made a really beautiful card. Gorgeous colour combination too.
Hi Pauline - a little something for your over at my place!! Do pop over to collect.

Beautiful card, very different. Love the blue colour. I know hou you feel about smudging, I have that with my tree card, so annoying but you managed to cover it. Thanks for lovely comment on my card. Kathleen x
Pauline, gorgeous interpretation of WMS! I have done the same thing with smearing a word...just this past week, actually. I wound up doing something similar to your fix, as well.
Yup, been there done that loads of times! I've learnt the hard way to put things with stickles on to one side to dry and add it to my project last of all! I've also recovered my bad stamping in exactly the same way as you have too. Lovely colours on your card too. Thanks for popping in to mine already.
Hugs

Aww what a shame about the smudge - that's the sort of thing I do ALL the time. It looks fine with the added sentiment though - I love the glitter and how you only added the embosssed dots to one half of the card.

I recogninse a lot about the smudge. It happened to me too; more than once...argh!!!
But you solved that problem in a clever and beautiful way; your card is gorgeous. As usual :)

I love the green colour! And I regognize the problem with the sentiment for the full 100% :)
lovely card and such gentle colours.
your card is so pretty, dont worry about the mishap we all do it,but i know what you mean, sometimes i just wish i had left it as it was instead of adding that last touch.

Love it Pauline. The layout is great, and the colours very pretty. I've done exactly the same as you many times (smudged the ink), it's so infuriating. Sue.x
The flowers look great in the start feature, nice job with the sentiment too! Thanks for playing along with the Mischief Makers this week!
