Waltzingmouse Blog Party!!

Hi everyone, Happy St. Patrick's Day!! There's certainly been a lot of green in blogland this past week, and today it's time to break out the green, and celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

Every month Waltzingmouse Stamps has a Blog Party on the 17th, and we all get to have a little blog hop and gaze in awe at the creativity inspired by the head Mouse mistress - Claire Brennan!

This month's theme is St. Patrick's Day/Irish, and here's my contribution:

Both of my parents are Irish (from Dublin), and as a child I went to a large R.C school in London, where most of the children had Irish parents. I remember us all wearing a little shamrock posy pinned to our jumpers (green of course!) especially sent to us from The Emerald Isle.

For my card I have printed the shamrock posy freebie (see HERE,) and made a background by printing on the sheet multiple times. I coloured them in using Promarkers, and decided to make the wrapping purple, I just love this colour combination.

For the label, I have stamped the shield image from Celtic Heritage, then stamped the Claddagh symbol in pale lilac ink under the sentiment.

Before mounting all together, I wrapped some purple button twine around the middle and added copious gems! Finally I distressed around the edges with some Distress Inks.

Supplies Used:

Stamps:
Celtic Heritage, Shamrock Digital Stamp - Waltzingmouse Stamps

Ink:
Distress Inks Milled Lavender and Dusty Concorde; Memento Inks Cottage Ivy, Lulu Lavender and Tuxedo Black

Other:
Button Twine Purple - The Ribbon Reel; Gems from stash; Petalpoint card base from Craftwork Cards; Purple textured paper from Papermania

I am entering this into this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge.

I'm off for a turn around the blogosphere, and see what everyone else has made!

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline

This colour combination is absolutely beeeautiful! I love the way you've printed the shamrocks in such a diminutive size and then coloured them all to match so perfectly! The Celtic Heritage label looks just perfect as the finishing addition. This really is a "Happy St. Patrick's Day" card!
