So the challenge for January is to create a sky on your card. I have gone for a night sky, using the resist embossed technique, and have used a selection of images from 5 different WMS sets!

The Starry Background was created with the stars from Midnight Feast, the gold embossed star is a mix of the lightburst image from Cicely at Halloween and the long-tailed star and sentiment from Nutcracker Sweet. The trees are from Teeny Trees, and the background stamping on the card base is from Text- It!

I created a curvy mask from a post it note, and used this whilst sponging the inks over the card to create the effect of a snowy hill.
I added some navy twine to the bottom edge and some blue gems to the petal point base.
Although this turned out ok, I'm not 100% happy with it - the embossing didn't quite go to plan, as this is my third and final attempt! I embossed the trees twice - once in clear and then in black, to create the effect of snow on the branches. But one of the trees is 'backward', ie. the snow looks as though it's under the branches! A small detail, but I see it when I look at it!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Nutcracker Sweet, Teeny Trees, Text - It!, Cicely at Halloween, Midnight Feast - Waltzingmouse Stamps
Inks: Distress inks in Broken China, Faded Jeans,Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky; Memento Paris Dusk
Other: Embossing powders in black and clear; Navy Blue Bakers Twine - The Ribbon Reel; Blue gems from stash; Prima Say it in Crystals
So I just have February and March to go and I will have caught up!
Thanks for stopping by,
Pauline
