DYSU 65 - Sew It!

Hi all, today brings us another new challenge from DYSU, and this week would like you to...

....add some stitching real or faux to your projects!

I love adding stitching to my cards, it gives a nice bit of texture without adding too many bulky layers, especially if you want to keep it flat for posting.

Today I have a relatively flat card for me, although there are layers, they are not raised at all.

I have made a sympathy card, using the tree image from Waltzingmouse Stamps Blessed by You set, and layered onto a background stamped with text style writing also from WMS Text It set.

I have cut two panels in bronze and green textured card, and edged them with a martha Stewart leaf punch. I kept the design fairly simple, as a sympathy card doesn't need a lot of embellishing.

Here are our sponsors for this week:

Dearie Dolls

Michelles Scrapbooking

Amber Ink

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Blessed by You, Text it! - Waltzingmouse Stamps

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Distress Ink Frayed Burlap

Paper: Neenah Classic Crest; Papermania textured card; White linen card base

Other:
Martha Stewart Leaf Punch; Black gems from stash; Sewing Machine, fawn coloured thread; Circle Nesties

Do stop by the rest of the wonderful D.T. over at DYSU, to get some stitchy inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline

Your sewing is always so neat Pauline! It looks great with the willow image and I love the way the leafy border ties in beautifully as well. Vicky x
